ABOUT SRA. HOFER

My name is Jill M. Hofer.  Before my teaching carreer began, I completed my undergraduate studies at Bloomsburg University with a dual major in Spanish and Psychology.  While traveling to Spain as an exchange student and spending a semester at the University of Salamanca, I fell in love with the Spanish language and culture.  I decided to become a teacher so that I could share that love with my students and I have done so for 22 years.  I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Spain with Lenape Valley students on nine separate occasions.

I continued my education, earning my Masters Degree in Individual Counseling from Montclair State University.  I now have the great opportunity to use this degree to teach AP Psychology here at Lenape Valley.

My interests outside of school include traveling with my family and friends, playing guitar, playing tennis and being a fan of the greatest team in baseball~the New York Yankees.

The quote that you see above describes my personal philosophy in teaching and in life. "EL CAMINO ES LA META," directly translates to, "THE ROAD IS THE GOAL."  In the classroom, I do my best to help my students to understand that the process of doing anything in life is what is most valuable to us as human beings, not just the outcome.  I also do my best to promote diversity, the value of hard work and the benefit of being bilingual.
